When you come to Japan,
It might sound like just “Sorry,”

In Japanese, “Sumimasen” has multiple meanings depending on context:

Example: You want to ask for help in a store — “Sumimasen, kore ikura desu ka?” (Excuse me, how much is this?)

  • Thank you (धन्यवादको भावना)
When someone does something nice for you, Japanese people also say “Sumimasen” to express humility and appreciation.

Japanese culture is based on respect, modesty, र harmony.
“Sumimasen”
